I thought that a desktop icon or even a dock icon that locks your workstation could be useful for people in a hurry, or just for people that like useful little gadgets. So here's how to make your own.

 

1. Right click on your desktop and click NEW / SHORTCUT.
2. In the popup box type or paste: Rundll32.exe User32.dll,LockWorkStation
3. Click NEXT.
4. Name the shortcut whatever you want. (I named mine LOCK)
5. Now right click on the shortcut and choose properties.
6. Go to the SHORTCUT tab and click change icon at the bottom.
7. Choose an icon.

note: you can also drag the icon to your dock program like RocketDock or to the Quick launch bar.
